I wanted to read this book because I heard duMaurier's writing style was very similar to Mary Stewart's and I like Stewart's Gothic style. This had the same flavor and it was a decent read but I still enjoy Stewart's stories alot more. I felt like duMaurier's characters didn't do a very good job of ...

This book was magical. I loved it so much. Almost as much as Rebecca. I am happy I found this book later in my life, although I think that I would have found the strong heroine, Mary, just as intriguing if I would have read her earlier in my late teens or twenties.
Mark Wills ~ Sinfully Sexy Book Reviews
A classic and dark piece of literature set in the dramatic, looming and brooding Bodmin Moor. It really brings to life the atmosphere of an era and area full of mystery and boding. Loved it.
