This reader's personal opinion, ©2019, all rights reserved, not to be quoted, clipped or used in any way by goodreads, Google Play, amazon.com or other commercial booksellers* Well sort of a review. I've had this sitting in my currently reading well after I finished it, mulling over what to say....

"Holden was starting to feel like they were all monkeys playing with a microwave. Push a button, a light comes on inside, so it's a light. Push a different button and stick your hand inside, it burns you, so it's a weapon. Learn to open and close the door, it's a place to hide things. Never grasping...

Caliban´s War is the second book in the Expanse series and up until the last 150 pages or so, I wasn´t quite sure if I would continue reading this series. It´s a fun, action-packed story, but I really struggled with the structure of the novel. The story is told through the perspective of four di...

A quirky little story that shows just how interesting the world of the Expanse can be.

Series: The Expanse #3 Another audio re-read to catch me up in the series. Here we finally discover what the protomolecule was cooking up on Venus and I'm really glad I reread this before continuing on with the series because I'd forgotten about some key plot points. Hopefully I get to the next ...

I found the prologue absolutely electrifying, and couldn't wait to unravel the mystery, but the book made me work for it! The first third of the novel has parts that just don't seem to take us anywher...

Series: The Expanse #2 An enjoyable reread by audio although it certainly took a while. I'm not sure what else to say and I hate writing reviews on my tablet. I suppose I should be grateful I'm not on my phone.

Someone asked what I thought of this right after I finished, and my short answer was that the amount of time spent with weird, alien stuff in this one is great, but I'm kind of over the characters. And that is true, but not complete. My longer response is that this is at least the third book I've ...

A pretty fun tale set between Ep. 4 and Ep. 5, this one captures the essence of Han, Luke, and Leia pretty well as they pursue a rebel spy (Scarlet Hark) planted deep in the Empire. The problem is she doesn't have the intel they need yet and Han is forced to join with her in pursuit of a rogue opera...

Narrated by Jefferson Mays Series: The Expanse #1 I quite like this book although the conflation of speed and acceleration still irks me. This was a reread, obviously. It was also my first audiobook listened to via the Kobo app, and I have to say that my experience was pretty good. Inside the ...
