This is a small, odd little middle grade fantasy. It’s set in Wales, which is totally catnip to me. However, I felt a bit distanced from all the characters–it was like emotional beats were set up but not fleshed out enough for me to buy them.

when you hear about a book of half-minute horrors for children, you kinda just shrug your shoulders and decide that you'll read it as a quick, easy filler in between books, right? but here's the thing: you're wrong. this book was absolutely not a buffer. it was actually creepy - and i say this as so...

This book had a lot of potential it unfortunately didn't use. It didn't make me want to read the rest of the trilogy.

In the beginning (way before Midnight for Charlie Bone), there was a boy who came to our world. His destiny was to find a place where he could grow up safely. Well, the book was enjoyable enough, but not what I was expecting it to be. I do kind of miss Charlie though.

Fun children's adventure/mystery/fantasy; I enjoyed it more than I expected to.
