Exactly what it says on the tin. A collection of a whole lot of very, very short, creepy stories. Some of them are, indeed, very creepy. Neil Gaiman's, for example, and the Lemony Snicket story. Some of them are a little more silly, intentionally and unintentionally. It's about 125 pages, and the st...

I am a big fan of Nimmo but this book just left me disappointed. I love the way she write but the story just seemed way to forced and lacked the charm in her other books. Would recommend Charlie Bone to see her true talent.

One day, I was at the library with a friend and I saw this book on the shelf. Just laying there, waiting to be picked up. And, upon picking it up, there was absolutely no contemplation on whether or not I should read it. This is probably the best short story book I've read since Jon Scieszca's Guys ...

Young Gwyn's world has been lonely since the disappearance of his sister Bethan. His parents, particularly his father, are still grieving and his father blames Gwyn for his sister's loss. A really strong collection of sudden fiction, some truly creepy, some funny as anything. I particularly like the addition of comic-st...

On his ninth birthday Gwyn is given a brooch, a scarf, a piece of seaweed, a tin whistle and a small broken horse by his grandmother and told to give them to the wind. The first thing he gives to the wind is the brooch which comes back as the snow spider and suddenly magic is in his life, real and ...

Kids will love this book--maybe boys in particular, but don't all kids love scary stories? And these are so short that there's not time to get really scared during the individual stories, so I think these might be mom-pleasers as well. Some of them are just weird, some have funny surprise endings,...

How scared can I get in thirty seconds? Well, I decided to find out. I picked up this book upon seeing the words "half-minute". This greatly appealed to my fluctuating attention span, which that day was extremely short. Overall, the stories were good; some more than others. It was interesting to see...
