The one where Scarecrow is the king of the Emerald City. That's all I remember of the plot, but I loved this book as a girl, and plan on re-reading it.
The 12th book is a great addition to the Oz series. Baum returns to 2 of the original and beloved characters (Tin Man and Scarecrow). Like pretty much all of the Oz books the characters must complete a quest - this time the Tin Man is seeking his lady love Nimmie Amie.
This is one of only two books that I read from the Ruth Plumly Thompson Oz series. It's a great book and a very touching story...but of course, I always had a soft spot for the Cowardly Lion ;-)
11th in the series - the general plot is a search through Oz for the missing Ozma of Oz. Lots of the familiar lovable characters and some fun new ones too. A lot of the books are self contained and can be read independent of the series, but I wouldn't say that is the case with this book.
This 9th book incorporates characters from Baum's non-Oz books (yes, he wrote non-Oz books!). A little girl named Trot and her friend Cap'n Bill are drawn into some Oz adventures. This sixth book was meant to be the last in the series. As a result Baum tied up a lot of loose ends which really helped strengthen the series later on when he returned to writing about Oz. In this book Uncle Henry and Aunt Em get to go to Oz. While Dorothy and her aunt and uncle are touring Oz th...
The third installation in the Oz series. Dorothy returns in this one. Along with Billina (a talking Hen) and Tik-Tok (a copper mechanical man) she journeys to the underground kingdome of the Nome King. The Nome King has turned the royal family into little items that he uses to decorate his palace...
This fifth book is considered one of the weaker books in the series. I enjoyed it, but honestly the story doesn't stand out to me other than the fact that I always loved the cover of this book. The lady in the rainbow dress is Polychrome. She is the fairy daughter of the Rainbow. Dorothy meets P...
