Fun, exciting, middle grade fantasy! The story revolves around 3 children, Kate, Michael, and Emma whose parents disappear when they are very young. They move from orphanage to orphanage experiencing dismal lives until a magical book that takes them on a wild time traveling adventure. This book h...

Interesting, a good amount of dark, and a good amount of complexity. My only issue was that I listened to it, and Jim Dale drives me nuts.

** This review originally appeared on http://bellesbookshelf.blogspot.com/ **This book was pretty magical.I picked it up not really knowing what to expect, except that I liked the cover (yep, I judge books by their covers), and that it was "kinda like Harry Potter" according to my fiance, who'd read...

Loved the spirit and breadth of the story. Found the kids to be lackluster and cookie-cutter at times - without much individuality. Too much telling, not enough showing. Still a promising series if he can hold it together and raise the caliber overall.

Ormai tutti sembrano attendere questo romanzo che si preannuncia come un capolavoro assoluto, il nuovo Harry Potter; il libro che...

In fact when we really get acquainted with the children at the Edgar Allan Poe Home for Hopeless and Incorr...

I wasn’t sure what to expect going into The Emerald Atlas. I know I want to read more MG fiction because I generally enjoy it, but one thing I do not enjoy at all is time travel. I know enough about quantum physics (yeah nerd I know) to be annoyed with all of the mistakes that authors normal make wh...

So The Emerald Atlas had been sitting on my TBR for maybe two months, and with its release date coming up I decided it was high time that I got around to reading it. Since it sat for sooo long on my TBR, I had plenty of time to forget everything I've heard about it that way I could start off reading...
