Sometimes an anthology has that lure, that pull, that innate ability to sink hooks beneath your flesh without you realizing it. While there are plenty of good horror anthologies out there, it takes a lot for one to grab hold of me like SHADOWS OVER MAIN STREET (VOLUME 2). It can seriously take me al...

This book is a direct result of the current President of the United States and the sheer terror that many of us felt/still feel right after the election of 2016. The general idea seems to have been: gather up nearly every writer in the US, ask them to write short fiction, put it all in a big Coffee ...

If like me you read a lot of spooky story collections, you will come across the same stories every so often. But it's okay. If you're like me and don't have the best memory for the plot points of what you've read years before, it's almost like reading it for the first time with a slight sense of dej...

Average book. A story about an American teen who loses all of his friends and becomes suicidal after an unforeseen event. Nearly kills himself but gets saved when a girl his age saves him. Everything and everyone are happy again, they kiss, the end. Pretty average storyline.

3,75 stars. I liked it, but in a way that's really hard to pin point. Everything about this was better than average, yet nothing blew my mind.

Fact: There are some people in the world who make their ideology into a crusade. They believe they are right, even if they're presented with information that they are wrong. They stop at nothing to force their way of life onto others. They will resort to extreme measures if necessary.Fiction: Everyo...

Although I have read quite a few of Joyce Carol Oates's works, since she is so prolific, I think I've just barely scraped the surface. One of the things I admire about her is her eclecticism. She doesn't confine herself to any one genre nor fall back on any sort of a formula. Probably the first ...

Release Date: 04.25.17 This was my first Dark Screams collection, but it certainly won't be my last. Color me impressed! While I wasn't particularly scared by any of these stories, most of them do deal with dark themes and toe the line between natural and unnatural. They range in voice and style...
