It’s a fine enough memoir. It covers the important parts of the year Julie Powell spent cooking from [b:Mastering the Art of French Cooking Vol. 1|129650|Mastering the Art of French Cooking (Vol. 1)|Julia Child|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1333577773s/129650.jpg|2897158], and it delves deep into int...

Fun, enjoyable fluff. Only thing that grossed me out were the continuous references to her dirty kitchen.

A fun book, but not one for the tender stomached. Julie Powell is a writer who likes to shove disgusting things at the reader, like a toddler with a keyboard. And I don't mean preparing lobsters.

One of my favorite books. Based on true story book portrays not only cooking but also relationships. Touching, moving and inspirational - in the cookery sense ;) I was always hungry while reading it! Yummy!

"I've held off on writing this review as long as possible but I have to face the facts that I did not like this book. I thought I would because I adore cooking and really liked the premise of the project. The fault likes with Julie Powell. I did not like her. She comes across as whiny, spoiled, ...

Part of me feels this book deserves five stars and the other part of me . . . doesn't. Julie Powell's descriptions of food and of Julia Child's life, and even some parts of her own, were magical and made me want to go and start cooking (except for the lobster chapter, which gave me anxiety). BUT, ...
