Kate Murray is an avid runner and has a passion for educating people about how overall wellness is deeply rooted in proper nutrition. She was practically raised in her mother's kitchen, but it wasn't until she became a mother herself that she realized Americans have such widely varied understandings about what healthy eating really means. In 2001, she began to focus her attention on nutrition, later focusing very specifically on plant-based nutrition. As a mother, Kate understands the challenges parents face in trying to teach their children to eat more vegetables: "It's not easy when everyone else is serving yogurt and cheese because they think it's the right thing to do" Kate says, "in this book you'll discover why animal protein, especially cows milk, is ultimately causing significantly more harm than good...not only in your child's development, but also in your own.
