Katherine Gallagher is a widely-published Australian poet resident in North London since 1979. During the 1970s, she lived in Paris teaching English. She has five full-length poetry collections, most recently Carnival Edge: New & Selected Poems (Arc Publications, 2010) - 'its natural territory the exotic and unknown, the fringe and carnivalesque,' Jane Holland, Poetry Review. She also translates from French.Winner of the Warana Poetry Prize and a Society of Authors' Foundation Grant, Gallagher has been shortlisted or a runner-up in various awards. In 1994, Forest Books published her translation of Jean-Jacques Celly's Le Somnambule aux Yeux d'Argile - The Sleepwalker with Eyes of Clay..Gallagher has read her poetry at universities, festivals and poetry venues in Europe and Australia.
