Keiko Kimura Shibano, a sing and songwriter of Brazilian bossa nova music, is a talented musician. She lives in Tokyo, Japan with her hysband, a poodle named "Francie" and a large collection of Barbie dolls. A frequent contributor to Barbie Bazaar Magazine, she also writes novels.
Keiko has an affinity for the exclusive Barbie dolls and fashions that were sold in Japan in the '60s. She enjoys the mix of Western and Japanese style inherent in these early dolls and fashions. She loves the sixties mood found in vintage movies, music and Barbie. Born December 14, 1963, Keiko grew up in Philadelphia in the late sixties and relished playing with the mod Twist 'n' Turn Barbie.
Recently, after one year of intensive study, she qualified to be a "Kimono Advisor." Fond of wearing kimonos, Keiko appreciates the harmony of nature and tradition in Japan.
