Kevin Budelmann is interested in design theory and practice in the context of business, technology, and society.As co-founder and president of Peopledesign, a 15-year-old, 25-person strategy and design firm in Michigan, Kevin oversees the firm's strategic direction and helps to manage client relationships as designer, strategist, and change catalyst. His work at Peopledesign includes serving as a strategic partner to a wide variety of organizations including business and on online services, health care, education, manufacturing, automotive, finance, design, and consumer products, ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies.Kevin's work has been published in hundreds of books and magazines, and is listed in Encyclopedia Britannica. His first book, "Brand Identity Essentials," co-authored by Yang Kim and Curt Wozniak, was published in 2010.Kevin serves as leader in various industry groups, including being president of APDF (The Association of Professional Design Firms), former president and founding member of AIGA West Michigan (The Professional Association for Design), and on advisory boards for Design West Michigan and NewNorth Center for Design and Innovation.Before co-founding Peopledesign, Kevin developed communications programs at Herman Miller Inc and as an independent designer. He has a BFA in Graphic Design from Carnegie Mellon, attended the School for Design in St. Gallen, Switzerland, and spent a week at Harvard for an Executive Equation seminar. While a student, he was among the winners of an international design competition sponsored by Apple.
