Kieron Gillen is a British writer and journalist best known for his work in comics and entertainment media. His work has appeared in WIRED, THE GUARDIAN, and PLAYSTATION MAGAZINE UK, among others. In 2007 he was one of the founders of ROCKPAPERSHOTGUN.COM, what is now the world's premier PC-centric games blog.Gillen's first graphic novel, PHONOGRAM (with artist/co-creator Jamie McKelvie), was published through IMAGE COMICS in 2006. In addition to his work with IMAGE, Gillen has been published through BOOM! I have not been a Marvel fan, so this is all pretty new to me. Yeah, the movies were a gateway drug, and now I'm inclined to pick up the books to fill in various back stories. Fun stuff. Library copy

My low interest in this book has actually picked up a bit with the Secret Origin arc. It's a silly, unnecessary retcon, sure, but it's a silly unnecessary retcon executed with style. And anyway, I think retcons and fanwanking and no prizes are a lot of the fun in ongoing superhero titles.
