Kitty has received a call from Anastasia – Roman is acting again. The ancient vampire playing a game of nothing short of world domination is on the move again with a new plot and a new plan. This involving a magical artefact of great power that could severely twist the balance in the struggle. Anast...

So this is obviously a play on the movie Big Trouble in Little China. Kitty goes to San Francisco at the behest of Anastasia, the vampire opposing Roman, in order to retrieve a magical item from San Francisco’s China Town before he does. I wasn’t fond of this one. The emotional pull of the story ...

I have no idea what the point of this book was, or any of this series really, they were mediocre to start and haven't improved. It can go back to the library and I can carry on knowing I didn't waste any money on this series (unlike Anita Blake)

A solid, fun entry into the series. Progresses the Roman storyline, and adds Chinese mythology into the "Kitty universe". I enjoyed it.

Unfortunately most of their time in San Fran was spent in the tunnels under Chinatown fighting all kinds of craziness. I like the direction this series has taken and seems like we have ...

A slight disappointment. Kitty, Ben and Cormac are on the case to help Anastasia keep a powerful artifact from Roman. Interesting use of Chinese mythology; however, the overall plot is lackluster. Vaughn appears to be setting up a significant story arc but this part of the series does not stand u...

Wow. And I thought that this book was all going to be about Kitty and her desire to know about history and who was a vampire or werewolf. I have that there were gods in this, but I don't know that much about China or it's history or Gods and Goddess. So I was as lost as Kitty was about that. I wasn'...

drey’s thoughts: Kitty starts off this ninth installment of Carrie Vaughn’s Kitty Norville series trying to find out if General Sherman could’ve been a werewolf, and somehow ends it in San Francisco’s Chinatown chasing ancient artifacts and meeting Chinese gods. The basic plot is simple–stop Roman fr...
