Two stars for effort, worldbuilding and potential, especially knowing that [a:Brandon Sanderson|38550|Brandon Sanderson|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/authors/1201547425p2/38550.jpg] takes over in the end, but, having finally gotten through Eye of the World (audiobook really helped), I underst...

When I used to work at a bookstore, my coworkers (and future husband) and I used to joke that Robert Jordan hated trees. Those poor shelves, groaning under the weight of such immensely long books. It'd have to be a damned good story to justify that much prose.Somehow, I missed this series when I was...

One of the most popular fantasy series of all time and I have never read it. Well, at least I can claim to have read the first volume now. This book was written before the advent of "grim dark" gritty fantasy by [a:George R.R. Martin|346732|George R.R. Martin|http://d.gr-assets.com/authors/135194441...

Even though we'll written I find that it is always hard for me to finish this book. I find it slow and ponderous and have no reason it or read others in the same series. Probably stems from the characters which I am never invested in. I figure after reading 3 Times I will just give up on the series.

A lot of readers of the Eye of the World seem to be in complete opposition to each other to the point when it’s difficult to meet any mutual understanding. That’s probably what got me interested in this book, more than its concept could have, anyway.A good example would be these two reviews:http://w...

So after being bugged (endlessly) by my friend, Kelly, to get around to this series I finally have... and I liked it! Much more than I thought I would. I'm quick to admit that I'm not usually into epic, hardcore fantasy like this most of the time--or at least I'm pretty picky about it at least. It g...

The world building is good & reminds me of Dune, but I wish it could be better written esp. the dialogues.

You know, I wanted to like this book, I really did. I had heard a lot of awful things about this series and author before I started, but a lot of good things also. From comments on other reviews of the Wheel of Time series, it's something that stirs up a lot of strong emotions - negative, or positiv...

As many of you know, I’ve been co-hosting an epic read along on this blog of Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time series! The first book is The Eye of the World, which we finished up a couple of weeks ago now. I’d say it’s time for a review, don’t you? ;-) I feel like I’ve already talked about Eye of the W...
