I think this is the first book I've ever flounced. Yes, it's funny, but the funny parts are hidden in between all sorts of dry dry dry paragraphs. I found myself just skipping to the dialogue, until finally, after 100+ pages, I gave up.

This is my first Christopher Moore book. Though his books are easily available in the local bookstores in the vicinity of my home, I didn't heed much interest in his works until now. I mean, what kind of an author uses fonts that look childish enough (close to comic sans)on his book covers? The answ...

3.5 to 4 stars for Lamb. I really enjoyed this book, and it did make me do some thinking about what life must have been like for Jesus as a *person* rather than for Jesus as Jesus, the Son of God. The book was funny, and I had to stop myself from laughing out loud on the bus, but I seriously doubt...

Beautifully imagined, and even though I probably missed a lot of the biblical references, I caught enough to make the experience satisfying. Moore notes, in his afterword, that he expects most readers not to be strong Christian believers as those who are perhaps wouldn't give this book the time of d...

I won't agree that Moore is like Douglas Adams or Kurt Vonnegut but he's definitely found his own niche in the world of written humour. I like his niche. It belongs in the church of Josh with it's gospel according to Biff.I often wondered what Jesus (Josh) had done in those missing years and I think...

A satirical and imaginative take on years 6 thru 33 of Jesus's life. The various religions that Christianity has borrowed from Moore creatively weaves into his narrative by having Biff and Jesus travel to find the three wise men or Magi so Joshua (Jesus) can learn what he needs to do to be the Messi...

This is an hilarious take on the missing years of Jesus, known as Joshua bar Joseph in this account. The four gospels which mad it into the New Testament miss three decades of the Messiah's life. Only two of them say much about his birth, one describes a brief episode when Jesus was about twelve whe...

I loved this book. It's so outrageous at times that you can't help but laugh, and then others are so...realistic it's funnier then the outrageous stuff. Surprisingly, some of it is very well researched...of course when it's put next to something like Jesus knowing martial arts you kind of overlook i...

I really enjoyed this offering from Moore. If you enjoy having a good laugh at religion, and don't take things too seriously, this book is a solid laugh.
