Wow. Amazing. I liked it much better than Witches and it can be read as a stand alone (though if you read them in order it would be a richer experience). Friends encourage me to write and then I read John Updike and don't what I could say that he hasn't already said, better.
Enjoyable, and although I appreciated the perspective on aging, it rang a bit false. Perhaps I'm just disgruntled because he makes the female aging process sound so depressing.
I read this because of the movie version of the WITCHES OF EASTWICK. At first I found it difficult to put the aging ladies together with what I remember of the movie.
