“There’s no such thing as a perfect book,”As a reader I have often come across books which, even if I liked them, I want to change in one way or another. So this quote completely got my attention, and within seconds of starting to read, I was fully engrossed in it. I wanted to see what will happen n...

It is unlike any book I have ever read. Its a Gothic mystery. Usually I am not a fan of Gothic stories but this one was an exception. The book is well written, with a fairly good plot which will keep you guessing until the end.The story begins when Lucy opened the door to her aunt who looked so much...

More than the plot or the cover, what attracted me to read this book were the reviews. Almost all of them say that it is similar to a Victoria Holt book. And I get why. It is written in 1st person (Lucy's POV), the setting is in a grand house and there is an eerie mystery going on. However, the real...

DNFAfter months, I'm tapping out on this one. After having full belly laughs in the first book, I was really looking forward to something that made me laugh out loud. Didn't happen. It seemed to me this one was just trying too hard.

I got about 20 pages in and then had to quit. It's not often I'm willing to give up on a book, especially this early on, but I just couldn't keep going. Emily, supposedly a fan of Little Women, does not seem to have much respect for any of the March family from the moment she is whisked into their w...

I can't even pretend to be impartial in my review. I've loved this series from the onset, my eldest, now thirteen has likewise, also my youngest, now ten. The series has been wacky, entertaining, funny, clever, and all around tremendous fun from the onset, and this culmination didn't let me down. I ...

Nix Carter, a thirty-something novelist has come home to Connecticut after spending a number of years on the West Coast. She's in the process of re-connecting with old friends when an unusual fellow catches her eye. Unusual might be an understatement since he dresses, speaks, acts and lives like the...

1.5 stars.Whoa, there was a lot of affairs and general weirdness going on this book. Her Aunt Helen and her father. Her Mom and Richard. I would have liked Aunt Helen except for the fact that she was sneaky and having it on with Lucy's father. That is never okay. Ever. And poor poor Lucy. She is alw...
