Y’all know by now that I’m a character driven, in-it-for-the-feelings reader. So as I sit here, trying to write my review for Parallel, although I could talk about the science of it, or how I fought the urge to hum the Doctor Who theme song when alternate universes were debated WITHOUT someone laug...
I loved Parallel, which takes an intellectual concept (physics and multiverse theory) and makes it fun, engaging and romantic.Abby is a type-A, control-freak kind of girl who -- to her astonishment and through a series of chance (and admittedly unlikely) events -- ends up acting in a Hollywood movie...
This book was a lot more complex than I thought it would be. I spent a lot of time confused about the constantly changing timelines. I really, really liked the characters, but I hated that the main plot of the book was "who am I dating in this timeline? Is he my soulmate?" I mean, this girl gets int...
Originally posted on Books As You Know ItMY THOUGHTS: Wow! Parallel by Lauren Miller literally has fried my brain. The concept was so scientific and explained in such a way that I was awed by its complexity yet simplicity of it. It's also an idea that YA authors never grasped, so its pretty c...
4.5 stars There is a lot of build up, but once it gets going, it's amazing. Love the story and the characters. I especially loved Dr. Mann. The science part isn't overwhelming and although the "when" got a little tricky at times, it was a thoroughly enjoyable read.
Short and Sweet: Parallel is a cool book. I loved the concept and really enjoyed the way Lauren Miller brought the parallel lives of Abby together. This book reminded me a lot of the movie Sliding Doors, but it was an infinitely better story. :) To Elaborate....Abby wakes up the morning after an u...

Personally, I love fringe science (and the TV show,...
Whoa, this book loves to twist your mind. I’m not even sure how to review it without giving anything way because it’s incredibly layered and one of the main themes of this book is how everything is interconnected. We can’t truly differentiate between “small” decisions and “big” decisions because th...
So, looking at that overall rating of 4+, I know I’m in the minority here. But, I’ve put this off long enough. I didn’t love this. Mainly because getting into it at all was a chore. I got side tracked more than once, but third time being the charm, I finally sat myself down and read it. Yay me! It h...
