2.5 starsFirst of all the premise of Legion is excellent, I really loved it and would like to have seen it used in a full-length novel. The brevity of this story restricted the premise in my opinion, especially as all of Legion's hallucinations were not introduced and we did not get more of a backgr...

It was a great self-contained story. And yet, despite that, I still find myself hating the length. I didn't get truly carried away by the setting, characters, or situation because I didn't get to spend enough time with any of them. And I wanted to know more about his abilities. So, as usual with som...

For various reasons I'm mostly sticking to e-novellas and short stories at the moment. It's definitely been leading to a lot of interesting places -- like this story! I don't know, there's definitely something that really grabs me about stories where what seems to be mental illness turns out to be...
Writing and Reading and Editing, O My!
Sanderson has the gift of taking an intriguing concept and turning into a compelling story. Everything of his that I have read is astounding and leaves me frothing loudly to all concerned about how talented he is--which normally only happens to me with Neil Gaiman and Patricia McKillip.

Finally got around to actually READING this novella rather than just staring at it. It's SO GOOD. The typical Sanderson creative juices have given us another amazing cast of characters. Actually, most of the book involved just one character and his hallucinations. Steve is a schizophrenic(ish) geni...

Told you I was on a Sanderson kick. =) This short story amused me. Stephen Leeds, the main character, is what some would consider...not all together sane. But Stephen? He's sure he's sane. He functions. He functions better than you and me combined, depsite having more personalities than well...

Seriously? Why hasn't this story been turned into the coolest mystery solving TV series yet? It would be so cool . . .Steve is the smartest person alive. He is fabulously wealthy because his brilliance is in high demand--he can solve crimes and mysteries better than anyone. Steve is also crazy ....

This was so much fun! The character (or is it characters?) was amazing and original and I wish Sanderson would write a full novel with him (it was over way too quickly!). Highly recommended!

This is a short story -- only about eight chapters -- but it's really fun and engaging. I want it to be a television show, I'm that into the characters. I like Sanderson a lot, but I don't follow him closely, so I don't know if there will be a sequel or if this is the start of some kind of serial, b...

Prior to this year I wasn't really a fan of short stories for two reasons: (1) by the time I immersed myself in the story it was over already and (2) I always want more. But this year, I’ve managed to get into some really nice short stories and this is one of the best ones I’ve read. I don’t say tha...
