I loved the plot/premise. The writer did her research, so that makes the natural disaster apocalypse junkie in me happy. I used to watch a lot of Discovery channel, so every time they had a show about possible end of the world scenarios I would watch it. Didn't help my paranoia when I was younger. L...

This was a very good book. It’s the story of a family from Hamel, Pennsylvania and their struggle to survive when the moon is hit by an asteroid and is moved closer to the Earth. This triggers all kinds of disasters, including tsunamis, tornados, volcanic eruptions and violent storms. Food is get...

A tough survival story of one family as they struggle through their first winter following a global disaster. It gave me nightmares, not gonna lie, but was pretty well-written. I would have liked a slightly longer, less abrupt ending though.

I had no idea what I was getting into when I started this book. This was not just heavy for the YA genre it is categorized in, but it was heavy period. Extremely well written and the diary style of the entries was absolutely invaluable (normally I find it annoying). Oddly enough, I feel like I am mo...

Full review on my blog: http://theaussiezombie.blogspot.com/Life As We Knew It isn’t exact in its science, and I don’t feel that it was meant to be. The science isn’t necessary, it’s the fall-out and consequences for the family in the book that makes the story. So if you want a book with a good, gro...

What's really great about this book is that it's so easy to fly through it. It is actually very hard to put down, not because it is suspenseful and action-packed, but something about it (possibly the clean and easy writing style) just makes for a satisfying read. I think of this book as "Grapes of W...

Review: Scientists say that an asteroid will hit the moon on Wednesday. Never mind though! Nothing will happen! Of course. Volcanoes and other natural disasters are set off when the moon is knocked off course. It's a fight for survival for Miranda and her family of two brothers, mum and long time fa...

It's a fairly well written book though I doubt if the depiction of science & tech is accurate, and I kind of wished the MCs can be more active in sustain themselves and not just waiting for other ppl to save them.

I really loved this book and I'm glad I ordered the whole series at once. The only thing I have to complain: At the end of this book they printed a preview of book 3 that - as far as I can tell by now - spoils book 2 :(But that's not Mrs. Pfeffer's fault. She did a great job making my cry a few time...
