The story within this story was an engaging fantasy, one which left me constantly wondering what would happen next, which was described with convincing detail and internal consistency, and in which the relationship between the two main characters transcended to become something more than the sum of ...

There was a part in the book where Pi is explaining something that Richard Parker does. I was curious to know how and what was it. So I googled it. One of the first options was a video (YouTube). Imagine my delight when I read the comments and almost every single of them was of somebody reading "Lif...

It reminded me of Les Miserables, starting with religion before getting into the actual story. Pi Patel is defi...

After such a long, tiresome voyage, I was left with a strange, bittersweet calm, like a very fine chocolate which doesn't last very long.

Although the spiritual message was great, the writing was too didactic. Good enough but not something I'd want to repeat.
