This is the best book of the series; the only published in full, fleshed out form, that's not too episodic and has consistent character development. I'm still not quite sure how Roger was raised from the dead, though.
This review has two purposes; One would be reviewing this book, and the second would be to review the whole series. As for this book- it is fast paced and well written. We see Alanna growing into a woman- learning to accept her feminne side. Alanna meets a shang worrior called Liam, and i must admit...
Pierce's style is just a little bit too simplistic and predictable for this to get five stars, and I still have issues with her pacing, but damn if this story didn't hook me. Will definitely be picking up the rest of her books in the future. Oh, and also George <3
4.5/5; 5 stars; AI enjoyed this final book of the quartet as much or more than the first one. The characters really engaged me, from Liam to Thayet, Buri, George, Thom and Jonathan, as well as all the peripheral characters who played an important role. The challenges faced by Alanna in particular...
I thought this series was fantastic and I am happy to be able to recommend it to friends with daughters and to be able to give them a full account of the sex. It is such a great story about becoming a woman, from beginning puberty, through the exploration of love and relationships, to finding out wh...
In a lot of ways, this is my favorite of the Alanna books. I love seeing Alanna come into her own; I love seeing her gain confidence, throwing herself in the face of impossible odds, and accepting herself as both a woman and a knight. I love, love what this series does with relationships, that Alann...
Aw, I'm all verklempt now. A bittersweet ending to this series. It's plain to see why the Alanna books created so many die-hard Pierce fans. This could have easily been broken into two books, but I'm glad it wasn't, after the weird cuts between books the series made earlier. Still, it's pretty much t...
This is the fourth and concluding book in the Song of the Lioness series, and it really doesn't make a lot of sense or have much emotional impact if you read it without having read the previous three books, so I would recommend against that. Alanna of Trebond is a knight, and has defeated her worst ...
I'd never noticed it before, but on this reread of the quartet, I realized that this is actually the weakest of the lot. Tamora Pierce tries too much in this book, with 4 different plotlines being twisted together. Because of this, it's by far the longest of the four. It doesn't make it bad though, ...
