Lirael is the sequel to Sabriel, which I read for the very first time this year and it instantly became one of my all-time favorite books. I was a bit hesitant to start with Lirael though, after I found out that there would be a different main character. I adore Sabriel fiercely, so I wanted to spe...
Hey guys! I hope you all are having a great day and this is my review to Lirael by Garth Nix. This book is the second installment in the Abhorsen Trilogy. Lirael has never felt like a true daughter of the Clayr. Now, two years past the time when she should have received the Sight that is the Clayr...

For all that Lirael in the library is some of my favorite stuff in the series, overall I feel like this is the weakest book of the trilogy, in large part because it is intended as a transition between the more straight-forward adventure story that was Sabriel and the more epic battle of Abhorsen. It...
From 4 stars to 1.5...There was just something tedious about this book. It felt as if nothing really happened; we just got a bit of back story from Lirael, and rather pointless realisations from Sameth. And another talking animal? I really don't think that was necessary.
DAMN. THE ENDING OF THIS BOOK SURE IS CREEPY AND IT PROMISES THE BEST FOR THE NEXT ONE.I must admit, I was a bit disappointed with both the hero and heroine in this book. I guess I was just looking for more "SABRIEL" like action scenes, but there were just a few. However, it's still really good beca...
I'm so happy that this series was recommended to me by a colleague. We have similar tastes and I usually trust her judgement but this time especially, I'm glad I didn't give into my fear of zombies and keep away from this. I love the way Gareth Nix writes. He ropes you in with hints and glimpses and...
I rather enjoyed Lirael. It was a fine continuation of the story begun in Sabriel with the introduction of new characters and the re-introduction of old characters such as the Abhorsen and the Prince. You cannot exactly consider this book a normal continuation of the storyline. Where Sabriel is on i...
Lirael is really a long (and sometimes boring) setup for book 3, introducing the two characters that will confront a terrible evil that wants to resurface: Lirael, a daughter of the Clayr and Prince Sameth, Sabriel's and Touchstone's son. For most of the book both are confronted with predestined fut...
"Plot was all over. And most things were seen coming from behind the backs of sneaky DEAD minions from twenty pages away." - Miss Clark's reviewI was so bored while reading this. I couldn't have cared less about what happened to Lirael just as long as Sabriel and Touchstone lived. It was just there.
