This is the only one of the "little house" series that I've ever read. I don't know why I never read the rest. It's a classic for a reason. Not a lot of plot, but a great look into a very different life.

Second Grade, my friend and I sat by the brick wall and read every little house on the prairie book together during every recess. We just found each other again via Facebook. She remembers those times.

This was my favorite. I love the austerity. Even as a child I realized that they wanted to live like that. And I was amazed. I liked the story okay, but not the Garth Williams illustrations. Blasphemy, I gather. Oh well.
