Lonesome Dove screams epic. The trade paperback is 858 pages long; the story features dozens of perspectives, and tells of a cattle drive around 1877 by twenty people of 2,600 head over 3,000 miles from the Texas borderland to Northern Montana. This is a very celebrated book. It didn't just win the ...

You know how everyone says this book is great? Well, me too. This book is great. I laughed and cried! Well, not really, but I came about as close to crying as I've come since [b:Where the Red Fern Grows.|10365|Where the Red Fern Grows|Wilson Rawls|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/126645016...

When Cowboys and Aliens came out, I was basically ecstatic – cowboys in space with Harrison Ford and Daniel Craig? Yes, please! I didn’t watch it at the time because I was in school, but a few weeks ago, my snake-in-the-grass intern lured me to watch it. So, I can never get those fifteen hours of my...

I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO ANGRY WITH THE BOOK BEFORE!900 pages. I cannot believe it. I kept reading and expecting some story line. What a joke!About half way through I hoped things will improve. I started getting attached to the characters. But then people started dying and after awhile it got so gloomy ...

The ending was kind of disappointing. I certainly don’t require happily-ever-after, but this seemed a bit flat and pointless. I’m not...

I absolutely loved this. There are so many wonderful characters to know and love (and not love) as they make their journey with the cattle. I loved Gus and the way he dealt with issues and especially Call, who is utterly frustrating at times. Doesn't take long for these characters to come to life...

3 1/2I stayed up until 6am to finish this and right now I feel like my head has been run over by a herd of cows. I was never that interested in cowboy and indian stories, or about the Wild Wild West with men running around on horses, but I'm glad I read this one as I did very much enjoy it. However,...
