A History Nut's Romantic State of Mind
I imagine this is one of Paula Quinn's earlier books. I cannot be sure. It is a a good medieval story with 2 good characters. The conversations are a bit silly because they are just so......pretty. But I have found that a lot of the medieval stories are like that. It is as if all the warriors back t...

I’ve wanted to revisit this series for some time. Finally the opportunity came so I jumped in with both feet! I am a great fan of Paula Quinn’s work and this just happened to be the first book of hers that I ever read, and a coincidence; it was her first published novel. I wasn’t disappointed in thi...

It's not that this book wasn't well written.... Quinn's writing does has quite a poetic tinge and an engagin style.I just felt that, for me, the plot dragged a bit. I found myself skimming as the lead characters kept analyzing the same stuff over and over again and abandoned the whole endeavor alto...

For this genre, this story actually was closer to a 4, I think. I loved the way William the Conqueror was written in. He was played by Sean Bean inside my head. Heh. There were a few things that irked me, but not enough to mention or ruin the book for me. So, all in all, a good read. Well done.

I had read "Laird of the Mist" by Paula Quinn in the past and I loved that one. Lord of Desire didn't work for me as much. What bothered me the most was the irrational drooling of the Hero after a women that betrayed him again and again. Yet all the way at the almost end of the novel, he still drool...

This historical romance just didn't seem realistic. I couldn't believe that a medieval warrior would be so obsessed by an unfaithful love and the heroine quivering from then a minute later threatening William the Conqueror. I didn't finish. Lord Brand defeated Brynna's father and she was given as ...

Lord of Desire was a very good introduction for me to Paula Quinn's work. I found myself drawn into this novel about a young woman who falls in love with a man based on how powerfully he loves another woman. It sounds weird, but this was quite a hook.Brynna came across Brand and his love Colette, ...

I could have given this a better rating but Brand started to get on my nerve because he couldn't get over it. I was like you got burned dude, get over it and start loving your wife already. For someone who loved life and who didn't love the woman who had betrayed him, he sure did let her get the bes...
