Another exciting, imaginative, and somewhat weird adventure featuring literary detective Thursday Next. Lots of fun though a few of the side tangents could have been edited down a bit. Listened to the audio version which was read with great enthusiasm by Elizabeth Sastre.
Doch dann wi...
Picking up more or less exactly where The Eyre Affair left off, this sequel follows the adventures of literary detective Thursday Next as she goes into the Great Library to retrieve her husband, Landen, who has been eradicated by Goliath Corporation in retaliation for leaving Jack Schitt inside the ...
I love the sheer inventiveness of Jasper Fforde's books, and in this series, the madcap way that he messes with literature, with both love and a childlike glee, and it makes me happy to have spent some time rereading this book.In the second in the series, Thursday no sooner discovers she and her new...
I loved this one as much as the first. If you aren't a book geek I can't imagine reading it for the mystery but if you are, and enjoy inside book jokes and wordplay these are great. I loved Miss Havisham, loved that she was competent and brave and not the pathetic creature from Great Expectations....
Audio-Thursday Next, literary detective, weaves us through a series of books on another amazing adventure. Characters from literature can travel to the real world, or to other books. Fforde, is a master at using fabulous characters, wonderful language, interesting images, and a great plot. The Jurisf...

The entire world created by Jasper Fforde remains surprising, as Fforde shares more details of his version of England in the mid-1980s with his typical tongue-in-cheek methodology....
Loved this one. Loved the Rocky Horror-esque production of Richard III (it starts with the audience yelling, "WHEN is the winter of our discontent?").If you love books, love reading, and enjoy humor, you'll likely enjoy the Thursday Next series.
