I liked the writing of this book a lot, but I thought the main character was extremely immature and annoying. I could not sympathize with her at all.

Possible spoiler alert! I knew the basic outline of the story of Frank and Mamah going into it, so I dreaded getting to end of it. Nancy Horan created a very sympathetic portrayal of Mamah - and I really wanted them to have more time together. Probably Frank's ego and narcissism would have meant tha...

Horan's writing flows beautifully and her descriptions unobtrusively capture the period and the mood but I did not like the story.

The story blends fact and fiction into a well-told story. It is unfortunate that I never developed any affinity towards Frank Lloyd Wright. I'm not sure just what to call this piece of historical fiction: an unconventional romance? an unsuccessful feminist's manifesto? a cautionary tale on adultery and divorce? WOW - I did not see the ending coming! That was a stunner!I really liked this book. The tone and writing style are a lot like "The Paris Wife," which I also really liked. The most interesting parts to me, were the descriptions of Frank Lloyd Wright's work and creative process, including his faults...

On top of that, it’s a Midwestern setting. Right away, however, I ran into problems. If you don’t know anything abo...

Nancy Horan has succeeded in spinning a tale based on the facts of Frank Lloyd Wright's notorious affair with Mamah Borthwick, the main character in Loving Frank. The story evokes strong emotions and the reader may come to loathe Ms. Borthwick, especially if said reader happens to be a mother. The w...
