Awesome characters and great book! I love the romance and who dun it flair! I wish Kaye wrote a lot more of the "Death in" series then she did

Ok, a 1.5 star rating is probably a little harsh, but I just did not enjoy this M.M. Kaye mystery! I wanted to, because I enjoyed her Death in the Andamans and Death in Kashmir very much. I tend to not be much of a fan of stories set against the backdrop of WW II, so that probably played a role...

Illustrated by the author, this awesome take on fairytales has it's tongue firmly stuck in cheek. Amy (properly Princess Amethyst Alexandra Augusta Araminta Adelaide Aurelia Anne) has a lot of gifts given to her by her fairy godmothers (which her father was against, he remembers what happened to hi...

This is a stand alone novel, but it could have been a series. It is long enough to be a series and there were at least a couple of spots, perhaps three, where the book could have been split and made into a trilogy. It is an interesting story of the British occupation of India with plenty of battles,...

I really enjoy how well [a:M.M. Kaye|1040250|M.M. Kaye|http://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1237692960p2/1040250.jpg] can write dialogue. The conversations between her characters are vivacious and sparkling, and they are a lot of fun to read. She can set scenes and moods like nobody's business, and her ...

A wonderful book, written by an author who obviously has a great love of the country and it's 19th century history. Another wonderfully evocative book based on the history of a young man orphaned at a young age and brought up as a native and then swept up in the "Great Game". Lots of echoes of Rud...

It was good, but it made me realize something I was pretty sure of anyway: I'm not one for fairy tales. There's just not enough in it for me. I want more than just a basic outline of a story. I guess I'm too modern to appreciate them. The idea of the story is great, though, and if it was turned ...
