The hellacious storm was driving Cass in the tiny kayak toward the rocky shore of ancient Ephesus. Evil spirits were in the winds and the waves. He was already exhausted after wasting seven days paddling from Athens to Turkey. Only the waning sun gave him any sense of direction, because of the overcast sky day and night. It was hidden behind a wall of black chaos.
Cyrene, Libya
The celebrated Cheetah Queen lived in a pink crystal palace high on a cliff overlooking a waterfall that fell into the sea. It was surrounded by harvest fields and flower gardens in the jungle. That morning, she was in her crowded throne room listening to the wisdom of her newest servant Commodore Qayin. He was standing between her ivory throne and the king's empty throne. He was proud to fill many positions for the lovely unmarried queen. He acted as the foreign relations advisor, the social consort, and as a temporary king.
