Sound recording narrated by Anne Flosnik. This was a very interesting dual-timeframe story. The author's prose evokes detailed images. I loved many of her descriptions, especially the minutiae of motion. It was like reading a film or a screen play, if that makes sense. It fits the story, since Ted i...

I've loved everything I've read by Maggie O'Farrell, until this. I didn't dislike it, I just found it somewhat dull compared to other books of hers I've read. I just couldn't connect with Lily or her plight. The secondary story involving Sinead was far more interesting. Ms. O'Farrell's books gen...

I have to say, I guessed the ending very soon after Lexis gets pregnant, but the writing and characterisation were so good, that I was gripped till the end and it had me in tears on the final page. Maybe not quite as good as her first, but still very much worth a read.
