Next to Magic Gifts, Magic Stars is probably the best novella in the Kate Daniels world. I loved that it featured Derek, and was surprised at how much I've grown to like Julie, a character I was mostly indifferent to for a long time. I was also surprised at how much I liked Julie and Derek together....
