**********THIS IS A GOODREADS.COM CONTEST WIN!!!!!***********This was an interesting book. I learned a lot about a computer that I did not know. I do not know how much of the information that the author use was real/accurate. But it was still an interesting real. Some of the terms/jargon used ma...
A readable/reasonably entertaining overview of the "Cabal," a group which coalesced in response to the Conficker worm & botnet threat. Bowden organizes history and the sometimes jargon-addled world of digital history clearly. I knew just a little of this, and so--like other great longform journali...
The subject matter was very interesting, but the author's writing style was odd and sometimes confusing. The story details the arrests and eventual killing of Pablo Escobar. The majority of the story deals with a relatively short time period, so if you're looking for a detailed history or life story...
Nice overview of the famous NFL championship game of 1958. Concentrates mainly on Raymond Berry for the Colts and Sam Huff on the Giants side. Listened to the audio read by Phil Gigante.
Another good read that can be taken as a cautionary tale about drug abuse and how meth can addle your judgement. The author did a reasonable job with the narration on the audio version. Bowden is becoming one of my must read authors no matter what the subject.
Would have been a five star read if I actually cared about the Philadelphia Eagles. Bowden must have had unbelievable access and he did not waste it. Lots of interesting tidbits from the 1992 NFL season (I did not know that Jeff Fisher was interviewed for the Philly job after Buddy Ryan was fired ...

It tells the tale of the rise and fall of, arguably, the greatest gangster (outside of government) of the 20th century. It is fast-paced, grippi...
I am unclear as to whether or not I love this book because in the first 4 stories they mention the U of C in two of them, but I do think it is an amazing book and recommend it to everybody. And I don't even usually like non-fiction.
This is one of the best combat descriptions I have ever come across. It rings true and really honors these brave soldiers, trying to do the right thing. Shows how our ROE and basic American nature can be used against us by another culture with no qualms about using women and children as combatants.
