I love this book so much. I love how simplistically it is written, I love the characters, and I love the plot, the story, the everything. I am so glad I finally checked this book out. What I really love is that the characters are so obviously teenagers. THEY ACTUALLY ACT THEIR AGE!!!! It's a miracle...

There were times that it faltered but overall this is an interesting, if slightly predictable story of a boy who has moved a lot who discovers that he has powers that put him ahead of others, ends up in a boarding school that has secrets and lies and fights to find out what's going on and to survive...

This book was awesome! I loved it from start to finish. It's pretty fast paced and kept me fully engaged. On first look, it may seem that this book is just another story about a special academy for the privileged youth who may possess special abilities. While it does involve those elements, it go...

This story had lots of familiar elements - a young man who has been educated by his parents to keep his abilities secret, frequent moves without explanation, a chance to attend a special school for exceptional kids, unknown enemies who seem to be everywhere. The way Frost wove them together made a c...

Initial thoughts: "The Paladin Prophecy" reminded me a good bit of Anthony Horowitz's Alex Rider series mixed with many supernatural and technological elements in spurts. It's a cool story of an extraordinarily gifted boy who ends up at a special school and put to the test against enemies that seek...

Wonderful, a page turner, there were times I couldn't put it down or was eager to get back to it. It's a true story about the 1913 US Open and the various personalities involved. If you are a golfer, you may love it. If you are a wanna-be golfer (like me) and have a moderate understanding of the gam...

Opening: The scorpion sat motionless on the back of the gambler's hand.Started off fun however we were introduced to more and more people, too many characters here at the expense of any depth of personality or coherent storyline. And what a wimp of an ending. Will have a read of his new one at the e...

This is part of that particular offshoot of Holmes pastiches that uses not the Great Detective himself, but his author, Arthur Conan Doyle. This tale penned by Twin Peaks scribe Mark Frost thrusts a young Conan Doyle into an occult mystery leading to the rise of a dark power, the identity of which p...
