I've read this book multiple times. It's more like, I've read The Navidson Record multiple times. I can really do without the ribald tales of Johnny's very-straight-dude sex life/fantasies.

I don't even know what angle to come from with this book. I wanted to give it an in depth review as it deserves such. I saw this book while at Forbidden planet I've been wanting to buy it for ages so i got it there and then.I think this book is going be one of this book's that stays with me the re...

If you enter into this book expecting a novel, or something as intricate as House of Leaves, you are going to be disappointed. The size of the book is deceptive until you open it and see the sparing amount of text per page, and how 50% of the pages are reserved for art. I think this, more than anyth...

For me, story is king. No matter what else an author wants to put into his book, if the story fails to satisfy, then the book won't work for me. This is part of the reason why, when I first attempted to read this book some seven or eight years ago, I ultimately abandoned it. It was too much form ...

Quod evenit in labyrintho properantibus:ipsa illos velocitas inplicat.Good grief Danielewski, what have you done to me? There was a time when I may, on occasion, have been capable of at least some form of coherent thought and possibly even formulated constructive ideas. But then I picked up this bo...

This is a companion book to House of Leaves, consisting of nothing but the letters written by Pelafina to Johnny. Although I'm unaware of all of the various editions of House of Leaves, I imagine most come with the vast majority of these letters in the appendices at the back of the book. In terms of...

"The purpose of that place still continues to elude them. Is it merely an aberration of physics? Some kind of warp in space? Or just a topiary labyrinth on a much grander scale? Perhaps it serves a funeral purpose? Conceals a secret? Protects something? Imprisons or hides some kind of monster? Or fo...

I've been sitting on this review for a couple weeks and I'm still not sure how to do it. Mark Z. Danielewski's House of Leaves in a seminal piece of experimental literature, and is probably the best known book of its kind. House of Leaves experiments not only with authorship and story structure, ...
