Leo is one of my favorite Kleypas heroes. Cat gave him as good as she got. Loved the bickering of these two as it was clear that there was sexual attraction. They were made for each other. Was good to see Henry and Poppy again and Dodger was adorable.
4.5 wow. Leo how you redeemed yourself over 4 books. I hated Leo with a passion after book one and was dreading reading a romance with him as the hero. Well done Ms. Kleypas in redeeming him. This book was my favorite so far in the series because of how we saw Marks and Leo grow with each other. Had...
A disappointment, I accidentally read this book twice, didn't like it either time. Forgettable, plot is thin, characters too predictable, no nagging sense of despair or danger.
WARNING! This book, being the fourth in the Hathaway series, contains certain spoilers for the third book in series, [b:Tempt Me at Twilight|6264710|Tempt Me at Twilight (The Hathaways, #3)|Lisa Kleypas|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1311970573s/6264710.jpg|6447962]. Most of the book is terrific, and I love the banter between all the Hathaways. Leo is just a fantastic hero - one of Kleypas' best. Dodger the ferret is totally delightful, a wonderful part of the story. The melodrama with Lord Latimer and Catherine's kidnapping is a bit much, though. This was the s...
Rating: 3.5 StarsAt this point, it should be obvious that I love Lisa Kleypas. If it isn’t, I’ll make it clear: I adore Kleypas. Perhaps not to the degree of flat-out awe that I hold for, say, Melina Marchetta or Kristin Cashore, but close. You see, Kleypas is not only an extraordinary writer, but s...
Audio-3.4 stars. This is a difficult romance. A prickly spinster type and an ex rake. They have been fighting since they first laid eyes upon each other. They fight, and fight, meanwhile her past is coming back to haunt her and his future is in great danger of loss. The best character- Dodger the Fe...
I love a sparring couple. Can't remember if it was in this book or another one, but my favorite scene is where Leo is absolutely delighted at the idea of teasing Miss Marks about her hair being the color of asparagus. The best thing about this book is the ferret, Dodger.
I know I'm not gonna gain any credit from my GR friends with the rating I assigned to this book, but I feel I have to speak my piece even if I'm the one woman standing out. The simple reason I didn't much like this book, is that my second worse plot after childhood friends falling in love with each ...
