Came back to this book after a long hiatus, and I am so glad I did. this book is wonderful, a delightful satirical romp through the world of opera.

A Discworld novel that I really enjoyed, filled with all of the oddball lore of the Opera world, not to mention a great riff on a certain musical that gets plenty of slapping about. Granny Weatherwax and Nanny Ogg make a reappearance, along with Greebo, as they track down a local girl by the name of...

I loved this book. Gee, I say that about every Pratchett book, don't I?Ah well, it can't be helped. Pratchett has his own unique wonderful style and is truly a master at his craft. So many things that I loved about this book.1. I love Agnes. Her struggles and voice was authentic for being an over-wei...

Considering this has three of my favourite characters in it I'm surprised that I didn't like it more. I think I found the plot a little too convoluted for a DW novel as well as Granny and Nanny seemed sub par for most of it. I will say that Granny really shone towards the end but I'll leave it at th...

So Nanny decides to recruit a new witch in the shape of Agnes Nitt. Only Agnes (who decides that Perdita is ...

Terry Pratchett applies the Discworld spin to the Phantom of the Opera. This was good fun, it was great to catch up with Nanny Ogg and Granny Weatherwax again as well. There's also something weirdly alluring about the human form of Greebo as well (there's something about dark dangerous men).

1 Jan 200019 July 201413 Aug 2016This was one of the first Discworld books I ever read, and I wouldn't recommend it as a good place to start. There's Granny Weatherwax and Nanny Ogg (and Greebo) which is to the good, but Death makes only a token appearance, and it isn't very kind. There's a fair amo...
