Well, that ending was abrupt. Why aren't more Banks' books made into movies? They're full of epic visuals and action. Too many epic visuals? Another case where I really wish we had the option of a half-star -- this is a 3.5.In terms of Banks other Culture novels I'd rate it just below the original, Consider Phlebas, and Player of Games.
