What a trip down memory lane. As I read these short stories, it took me back to my teen years and what I recalled about Judy Blume’s novels. I remembered sneaking to read her paperback novels, as my mother thought Judy was inappropriate and too mature for my innocent, sinless eyes. It was on my way ...
What can I say? If you've ever been a fan of Judy Blume, if her books have ever held a special place in your heart and soul, you should read this book. If you missed out on the beauty of Judy Blume, but you have pre-teen daughters, you should still read this book. There wasn't a bad essay in thi...
I enjoyed the story; the connection between Holly and her grandmother, the peak into the grandmother's past, the friends coming together and helping each other through the cooking class, I loved Mia, loved her father, the other characters were endearing, enjoyed the recipes.....But.....I have to giv...
The culinary parts of this book and the circle of cooking class friends are worth a five-star rating, but the middle school-style snobs vs. eccentrics suspense elements to the plot were tedious and incredibly annoying.

I would have liked it more if Abby wasn't so stupidly romantic. It's one thing to be in love with someone, but saying I love you fifteen times in your head when someone looks at you is a little much. Just a little more toned down and it would have been a happy middle ground.
2.5 starsOh, boy. There's so much I could say about this but because I was so ready to love this like I loved The Love Goddess' Cooking School that I'm left mighty disappointed. To sum it up though, it was a bit predictable as far as final outcome, the main character was a big hot mess that you tot...
