Half-human, half-angel, Meridian Sozu has a dark responsibility.Sixteen-year-old Meridian has been surrounded by death ever since she can remember. As a child, insects, mice, and salamanders would burrow into her bedclothes and die. At her elementary school, she was blamed for a classmate’s tragic accident. And on her sixteenth birthday, a car crashes in front of her family home—and Meridian’s body explodes in pain. Before she can fully recover, Meridian is told that she’s a danger to her family and hustled off to her great-aunt’s house in Revelation, Colorado. It’s there that she learns that she is a Fenestra—the half-angel, half-human link between the living and the dead. But Meridian and her sworn protector and love, Tens, face great danger from the Aternocti, a band of dark forces who capture vulnerable souls on the brink of death and cause chaos.

* This is a review from the audio book. I'm in a mood. I've been re-reading (which I NEVER do unless it's an EPIC book) too much lately. It seems that I'm out to prove to myself that the books that I read when I was 12-15 years old are actually still good books. It helps that I don't remember ...
Very slow in some parts but still kept my attention enough to keep reading even with the mention of biblical quotes and such but still was an interesting take on angels in a different light that didn't, in anyway relate or copy any of the other angel fiction that is out there.
My thoughts running through the majority of this book is that man, Meridian's got some shitty people in her life. Her family is of no help at all, I mean like the least useful people ever. If your daughter was a foreordained Fenestra/window of death thingy with people coming after her and trying to ...
