Blah, blah, themes out the wazoo, miserable people treated miserably by others. At least the gothics have some action.

This book helped make me the snob I am, and for that I'm very grateful. While all the girlie-girls are off reading Jane Austen somewhere, the serious young ladies and gentlemen are reading George Eliot's "Middlemarch." And anything by George Eliot/Mary Ann Evans.
