This book takes place shortly after book #2. Claire is still trying to make a go of school. Shane is being awful to Michael now that he's a vampire. She's now one of the "Protected" and she tries to hide it from her roommates. She's also thrown in with a vampire who is slowly dying and trying t...
This series gets better for me the more I read on. Caine is a smart author, continuing to develop an intricate backstory for a town ruled by the vampire class. This is no sappy PNR, but rather a tongue-in-cheek UF in which the main character develops from a spineless child into a fierce contender wi...
So, three books in now and I am still loving The Morganville Vampire books. However, I need a break. In Midnight Alley Rachel Caine has done some interesting things to her characters. Michael (spoiler) has become a Vampire, Shane (spoiler) is having difficulty accepting him thanks to his bigoted Fath...

This book felt like a transition novel. Like if it wasn't YA it would have been a 100 pages longer and delved into the power struggle and Myrin a bit more. I woul like to see the characters grow a bit more, Claire started sensing danger but still has a tendency to be like, "hmm that path is really d...
I don't want to read this series anymore but I want to know what happens. Sort of a conundrum, huh? My main problem: I don't care what happens to any of the kids. They're whiny, annoying, poorly developed, and they do really stupid things. Claire, the supposed genius, does the dumbest thing anyone c...
I enjoyed this one best out of the first 3 of the series. I absolutely LOVE what Claire is involved with regarding the vampires. I can't wait to see where that storyline leads...
This would make a really great TV show for high school girls I think, the Glass House characters and their creepy town are definitely interesting enough to keep it going...and a TV show would probably be much more compelling then the books are. Caine's lack of real writing talent continutes to taint...
So the library left a message that the next two Morganville Vampires books were ready to be picked up (what am I gonna do about books #5 & 6??)... & of course, once they were in my hands, I couldn't not read 'em...In Midnight Alley, Claire tries to get back to being a "normal" college student. Excep...
I tried to read the Morganville vampires. I didn't like it. The writing is fine. I just didn't like the characters and I didn't understand the world so well. I think it comes down to, I didn't care. I liked the Weather Wardens better.
