Life with my Chad has been a truly unique adventure. My son is not your typical average child. He is full of life and love, along with his qwerky nature but overall everything that makes him different is what makes him beautiful. I made the decision to write this book because I got tired of the pressure to force my son to be normal and fall into that normal category. I also wanted to share with parents that just because your child is showing a few signs that are like ADHD, doesn’t mean they have it. In public schools, they want every child to be Fred, and Fred learns on this curve, and if your child is not on this curve then there is a problem. Fortunately, I have had mostly great teachers for Chad. However, we had a couple not so great ones. My goal with this book is to tell our story and to let other moms out there know that just because your child doesn’t fit into the “Normal” persona, doesn’t mean they are not ok. Your beautiful child is fine. It’s society that needs to be more accepting. I personally believe more efforts need to be made in research to find more ways to teach kids who learn the exact same way as other kids do. Here’s our chance to start those conversations.
