MHI is the book equivalent of a big blockbuster action film - there's a ton of guns, explosions and a little bit of romance. Throw in some orcs, transdimensional demons and stripper with a fondness for RPGS and you've got yourself a real good time.
There was a bit much right-wing subtext at times but all in all this was a fun, testosterone-driven read. I could have done without a lot of the gun porn, mostly because it was all a bit of a blur and meant nothing to me past 'oh, look he's disturbingly attracted to another firearm.' YMMV.Oh, and co...
Wow. I had no idea what to expect. Not a horror guy. Not a big monster fan. But this science fiction, urban fantasy, horror mix is filled with hilarious characters and dialogue, strong action, and even a decent romantic subplot with a guy coming of age of sorts or at least finding his calling as a m...
I really, really, really enjoyed Monster Hunter International! It's all about good guys locked in nasty blood-baths with very bad monsters. There are enough guns, gore, and action in here to satisfy those of us who do have a bit of a fighter side. It's ridiculous B-horror movie-like fun, it's ful...
3.5 stars. Another author/title to add to my "guilty pleasures" pile. Loads of fun to read, very much like the Dresden Files books in that sense, so fans of that series will feel right at home especially if you're looking for something slightly less dark and just a bit more humorous.A few nitpicks t...
Wow. I have to admit that I did not have high hopes for this book, I mean really? look at the cover (I likes me a pretty cover), but I have to say that I was delighted to have been proven wrong, wrong, wrong. This is breath of fresh air for paranormal reads. Monsters that do not mess around when it c...
As one might deduce from the rating, I quite liked this book. If you don’t like guns you won’t like this book. If you don’t like monsters you won’t like this book. If you like any of these there’s a good chance you will like this book. If you like both, there’s a good chance you will like this book...

He wanted to be normal, to distance himself from all that – so he became an accountant. As normal as it was possi...
