Moody's Transportation Manual covers the transportation industry in one volume with statistical data not otherwise available to the investor. The Manual includes railroads as well as other fields of transportation's such as airlines, steamship companies, bus and truck lines, oil pipelines, bridge companies and automobile and truck leasing and rental companies, covering nearly 1,000 railroads and transportation enterprises. Maps of many of the larger railroad systems are included, as well as route maps of several large airline companies. Definitions of terms used in the Manual will be found following. In the compilation of the Manual, reports to and including the year 1991 have been used, supplemented by subsequent developments up to the time of going to press. The facts and figures selected for inclusion in the Manual are for the most part based upon information obtained directly from the corporation's or from stockholders' reports, Interstate Commerce Commission reports and Securities and Exchange Commission reports and registrations. However, in order to assure that the unique purposes of this Manual are realized, the manner and scope of the presentation of the information has been determined solely by Moody's. This Manual should not be viewed as a substitute for, but rather as a more readily accessible and convenient adjunct to, the information which, in respective companies which are subject to the reporting requirements of the Securities and Exchange Commission, maybe obtained by reference to the materials filed with the Commission by such corporations.
