one of his better discworld novels I thought, even though I've heard it said it's a bit of a stretch to basically do a Hollywood story on the discworld. while I agree that it does come across as a bit forced at times, the fact that he includes lots of characters and still manages to include ankh-mor...

Gaspode the Wonder Dog! Really. I had a good time with this one, and had a great time picking out all of the movie references. Not to mention the arrival of a new Archchancellor for the UU. Four stars overall, and great good fun. For the longer review, please go here:http://www.epinions.com/review/M...

Excellent as always. Pratchett's books remain my favorites. Highest score and recommendation and five stars.

The disc world develops a film industry (once the alchemists work out how to stop the film exploding). All sorts of people are drawn to Holy Wood - including the things from the Dungeon Dimensions that are drawn to any weakness in the fabric of reality - and in the film world that fabric is stretche...

I've held off reviewing any of the Discworld series because I wanted to get a feel for it. So far I'm thoroughly enjoying it. This book was very disappointing. Usually I have no trouble retaining interest in a Terry Pratchett/Discworld novel, but this one I had to force myself to finish. I think my problem with it is that it's too literal. What I love about Pratchett's writing most of the time is how he manages to mock t...

Not my favorite installment of the long running fantasy series, but Gaspode the Wonder Dog and the trollish love story were worth a few chuckles. Audio read by Nigel Planer

A mysterious influence has been seeping into the minds of the residents of the Discworld, causing them to re-create familiar (to we residents of the spherical world) sequences with their newly-invented method of creating 'moving pictures.' Is it just entertainment, or does something malevolent lurk ...

When reading a Terry book you normally think: wow this man is mad, how did he come up with this?? This time you think: wow how did he summarise our mad world so correctly? Joking with hollywood is always fun, but this man does it brilliantly! I would definitely recommend it!
