I had trouble getting into this one. It's different from anything I've read (not a surprise) and it really threw me off that none of it is in Miss Marple's POV. I didn't even try to guess who the killer was, since every time I thought I had it figured out, I was wrong. I just gave up after a w...

Surprisingly Miss Marple isn’t the protagonist, instead it’s a self-deprecating vicar with a dry sense of humour in his middle years who married in haste to his young wife and is repenting at leisure. He proposed to her after knowing her a day. A day! He’s so humble he claims his own sermons are dul...

"The young people think the old people are fools; but the old people know the young people are fools!" And thus we are introduced to Miss Marple, one on the most famous amateur sleuths in literature. When Colonel Protheroe is murdered in the study at the Vicarage in St. Mary Meade, suspects are many....

It took 1/3 of the book to halfway get into it. After finishing, I wish I had stopped earlier. If a mystery like this one were submitted for publication today, I hope it would be rejected.

It's been a long time since I've read an Agatha Christie, and somehow I had never got around to this one (she wrote over 80 novels.) What I remembered about Christie was her incredible plots and twists, but I didn't remember her for great style or characterizations. Well, she may not be an Austen ...

This was the first Agatha Christie book I have ever read and I am very impressed. I will definitely read more by Agatha Christie in the future. The beginning was a bit slow, but it became more interesting as the story progressed. And the ending! Agatha Christie was a genius! I can't say anymore witho...

Murder most proper. Agatha Christie's Murder at the Vicarage was my first Miss Marple. Now that I've had her I can say with the experience of knowledge, she ain't half bad! Still, I'm not sure I'd want to be caught by my more macho, football playing friends reading a tea cozy mystery. The characters...

The Queen Of Crime never fails me.While reading a crime novel, I always yearn for some points,1. Numerous characters.2. Abundance of suspects.3. Plenty of clues.4. An ending with a delicious twist. And there are points which I absolutely loathe, one of them being page long descriptions of objects and...
