This is a really good whodunit. Someone is killed on a train so the killer has to be among them. There is a widely varied cast. The mystery is not easily solved. I don't know why I waited so long to try something from Agatha Christie. I'll definitely be reading more.
I've always enjoyed Agatha Christie whenever I picked one of her books, though the level fluctuated somewhat. Now I know why this one is held up there with "And then there were none", and it deserves the praise. The mystery is a good one: closed quarters, and it keeps getting more intricate and ta...
An excellent audio version of a Christie classic. It would also work well for the "Locked room" category for the Halloween bingo. Previous update: 21 %
This was absolutely amazing! Quite possibly my favorite book by Agatha Christie. Soon to be a movie again. Can't wait to see it. The writing is amazing, and each character keeps you guessing. I want to re-read it all over again.
- Read a book that involves train travel (such as Murder on the Orient Express). Well, as it happened I did pick Murder on the Orient Express for this square. Not that I'm not intimately familiar with the story as such already -- it was actually one of the first books by Agatha Christie that I ev...
I was given this book by my class when I changed high school in the early 70s, but it whetted my appetite for Agatha Christie and Poirot in particular. TV may have increased exposure, but the little Belgian sleuth was wonderfully fashioned in the novels and this book in particular showcases the writ...
This was my first Agatha Christie and it was a lot of fun! I really liked Poirot's style, with his little tricks in interviewing witnesses and his smartass way of dealing with his co-investigators, if you can call them that. Dan Steven's performance in narrating this audiobook is fantastic, with his...
I absolutely loved this. So much so that I was in this sort of battle with myself: I wanted to hurry up and finish because I was absolutely stymied as to who the killer was and was dying to find out, and yet I wanted to slow down and make it last as long as possible because I was enjoying the story ...
I'd been looking forward to this one since I started reading Agatha Christie's Poirot series, and I've been forcing myself to read them in order as much as possible. I feel like this is one of her better known works just because I remember continually hearing references to the title over the years....
I loved it, it's actually the second time I've read one of her books so glad that I picked it up, it kept me entertained and guessing though out the entire book, can't wait to read more of this series, as for the main character I actually love him, there's just something about him that makes you lov...
