Re-read by audiobook. I cannot believe what a wonderful narrator David Suchet is. I was tempted to grab people and make them listen to the way he can narrate a woman, a man, a German woman, an American man. So wonderful. Also listening to this I get a sense of the time period as the German woman...

I've been listening to the Audio CD for the last week on the ride to and from work. I don't recall ever having actually read the book. I love this book, and I simply can't put the book down. I like it how the story goes on. A highly recommended book, probably one of Agatha Christie's best novels.

And no, it wasn't a vampire, either... it was...HERCULE POIROT'S SIDEKICK!!!The fact that I actually took the time to edit my face into that picture should tell you something about a) my Poirot love, and b) th...

A comment in an article from The Guardian characterized Christie's books as "the literary equivalent of sudoku" and I can't help but agree. I don't read Golden Age stories expecting to find nuanced, fleshed-out characters. They are mere parts of the mystery's architecture, designed to mislead the re...
